Getting ready to sell your home

They say potential buyers make a decision within the first ten seconds, so clearly first impressions count. J & W J Morris suggest the following tips for helping you to sell your home: clear, de-clutter and clean.

A tidy home should be the priority when trying to sell your house as potential buyers can easier imagine their own possessions in a clearer space. And, having a big clear out can also help you prepare for your forthcoming move. Some people start boxing and storing some of their personal possessions before the move, again to help prospective purchasers imagining themselves and their belongings in your house.

This may seem like a monumental task, but it can be simplified: tackle only one room at a time and get all the family involved. A simple trick is to use three boxes: one marked for storage, another for charity and a third for rubbish. When you tackle each room, begin with what is on show, before moving onto cupboards and drawers.  And, if you really can’t remember the last time something was used, or worn, ask yourself do you really need it?

At J & W J Morris we can tailor our services to suit you. We can take goods into storage before your move, we can help you with packing, or we can just help with your move. Contact us to have a chat about your forthcoming move on 0208 449 2616.
